These School Days Sprinkle Peanut Butter Cereal Bars are a delicious and nostalgic treat that is perfect for kids and adults alike. They're made with a simple mixture of peanut butter, cereal, and chocolate chips, and they're topped with a colourful sprinkle mix that will remind you of your childhood.
Ingredients
3 cups cornflakes
1 cup crunchy peanut butter
½ cup granulated sugar
½ cup maple syrup
1 ½ cup semi sweet chocolate
2 tbsp butter
½ cup marshmallows
Sprinkles
Preparation
Crush the cornflakes.
Line a square tin with aluminum foil and spray it with oil.
Over medium heat, in a pot, add peanut butter, sugar, maple syrup and marshmallows.
Mix all the ingredients together and stir continuously until the mixture starts to bubble.
Remove from the heat and add the cornflakes in.
Stir well.
Spread the mixture in the tin and press it out evenly.
Add chocolate in a microwaveable bowl and the butter.
Microwave for 45 seconds or until melted.
Stir well and spread the mixture over the cornflakes.
Add sprinkles and set for minimum 3 hours in the fridge, before cutting.
Tips
This recipe is very versatile. You can add even more ingredients/sweets to it.
